We have been in business since 2008. We changed the company name in May 2016 from Brown's Home Services/Electronics to Gem City Vacuums. We still work on some electronics but our new name reflects more of what we work on the most. We also have a large selection of NLA vacuum cleaner parts and many clean used items.

Please know that not only do we warranty these brands but outside of the warranty we will fix them also. We do sell parts for most model vacuum cleaners and if we don't have them in stock, we can get them,quickly!

We live in the Western Mountains of North Carolina and love our critters that the good Lord has left for us. Below is a slideshow of my favorite photo's that I've taken on our property. Please enjoy and send us an email with your comment. Yeah...I know it has nothing to do with Vacuum Cleaners, but it does give you a good feeling to see these critters.

We work on vacuum cleaners of all brands and models. We would like to keep as many vacuum cleaners out of the landfill as we can. We have a bone yard on site so we have many parts that normally are not available. Sometimes we are not able to complete a repair because of not having access to the parts or the parts are NLA (no longer available). Sometimes we are able to rebuild a part or piece and still keep it cost effective. When you bring us your item to fix,anything under $45.00 we go ahead and fix, BUT...anything over $50.00 we will call you with an estimate and you will decide if you want it fixed. Carpet Cleaners....There is a $18.00 fee (to open and test) and then you are called with estimate,the $18.00 is paid even if carpet cleaner is not fixed. So since you have nothing to lose, bring in your vacuum cleaner and carpet cleaners, you like so many others will find out that it was not that big of a problem in the first place.

We also repair Central Vacuums,Floor Scrubbers,Carpet Cleaners,Lamps and battery operated clocks. We even work on other equipment that we don't advertise .......so just email or call us at 828-524-6100.....

We've added service and repairs for the Singer Featherweights and other old time Singers. These were meant to be used and and will be here long after we are gone. We also buy older non working Singers for parts,this will help us complete some of our repairs. Want to fix it your self....GREAT...maybe you need a part.
